Caroline Dempsey, Wexford Mayor Councillor Ger Carthy, Beau Whelan Slattery and her mother Ciara Whelan took part in a fundraiser at Caroline's home in support of the Irish Heart Foundation.

A woman who underwent a heart transplant just before Christmas hosted a celebration of life party to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation and to thank all the people who supported her during this difficult time in her life.

Among those attending Caroline Dempsey's party at her Marine Town home was Ger Carthy, an ambulance paramedic and now Mayor of Wexford, who accompanied Dempsey to the Matter Hospital on the first of four journeys before he received his new heart.
