She underwent a life-changing kidney transplant at Beaumont Hospital in May 2002.
Peter arrives in Celchill's iconic garden in his way of honoring the family of Liz's donors who made the stunning decision to donate the organs of his loved ones 22 years ago.
Liz pointed out, “As a young teenager, it was extremely difficult to face an uncertain future with chronic kidney disease. My confidence was shaken up and I often wondered what my future would be like. The gift of the donor kidney has given me a future that most people take for granted. It allowed me to study, travel and meet my life's love and allowed me to share a wonderful life with Peter. ”
