National Multiethnic Donor Awareness Month (NMDAM)
NMDAM, also known as National Minority Donor Awareness Month, is celebrated throughout August with the goal of promoting organ, eye, and tissue donation in diverse communities.

– Evelyn Colon is a dedicated advocate for organ, tissue, and eye donation since 2008.
– Received a liver transplant on January 7th, 2008.
– Championed the cause with LifeLink and assisted numerous individuals to join the Florida state registry.
– Spearheaded Tampa General Hospital’s Special Peer Support Group for transplant patients.
– Recognized for volunteerism with The President’s Volunteer Service Award and the National Organ Transplant Enlightenment Award.
– Volunteer mentor with Big Brother – Big Sister of Tampa Bay for 16 years.
