The Belfast boy received a letter from the former US president.
Dáithí Mac Gabhann, who influenced changes to the organ donation rules in Northern Ireland, received a silver envelope through a letterbox on Thursday.
The letter was decorated with “William Jefferson Clinton.”
Daichie's dad, Martin Mac Gaban, said the letter “stop me with my truck… the fact that someone like President Clinton took the time to write this letter is amazing.”

Mac Gabhann told BBC News Ni it appears that fate helped Dáithí receive the letter.
“Daichy and I were at (Belfast) City Hall and met the Secretary of State at a Good Friday Agreement event, and he was running late… so we took a tour of the city's freedom exhibition.”
When they went to see the exhibition, Mac Gubhan said President Clinton and Senator George Mitchell were the last couple to receive honor. 2018.

“I just had an idea and I reached out to Queens and wrote a letter with Daichi about everything that happened,” Mac Gabhan said.

He added that the response from Senator George Mitchell came soon.

“Daichie smacked a big Redner and smacked her chin on the floor… he knew this was big… he couldn't believe it… he was getting a little emotional about it.”
He added that it is very positive to have this letter as Daichi is about to celebrate his seventh anniversary since he waited for a heart transplant.
“It gave us a much needed boost… Daichi is stable now, but this letter has saved the day for us… just like he was in the hospital.”
The seventh anniversary of being on the waiting list for a heart transplant will fall on June 2nd.

In a letter to Daichie, President Clinton said he is “very proud” to share the freedom of city honor with someone as amazing as you.
“Continue your great work and know that there are huge fans in New York who are pulling for you.”
President Clinton ended his letter with a message saying, “Please continue!”
“It was just an incredible letter. I received another letter from President Clinton and he said, “Your letter let out my breath. Push it!” And that's important,” Mac Gaban said.
Speaking about his son, Mac Gaban said that it was a long battle and journey for Daichi, but “Luck was by our side” and “Hope will continue you?”
He repeated his appeal to people to join the organ donor register and consider talking about it with family and friends.
“We rely on our community, our close community, our extensive community… Don't forget about us. At our lowest point, they (the community) raised us… just like President Clinton.”
