Northern Ireland's secretary, Hilary Ben, confirmed the government's continued commitment to the laws created in the name of a young campaigner, and thus showed Dáithí Mac Gabhann the organ donor card.
Born with Kypoplastic Left Heart syndrome, Dáithí, an 8-year-old, has been waiting for a heart transplant since January 2018.
Through the Donate 4Dáithí campaign, he and his Belfast-based family have successfully changed Northern Ireland's organ donation laws to a soft opt-out system.
Daichi's law, named in his honor, has come It will be enabled June 1, 2023.
Yesterday, Daichi and his father, Mac Gabhan met with Mr. Ben to “keep the donation of organs firmly on the political agenda of the North.”
Mac Gabhann told an Irish post that the meeting “has been really good.”
“He had a lovely way with Daichi, so I felt he was listening, which is very important when we're doing something,” he explained.
“the aim [of the meeting] It was to ensure his support for organ donation in the future — and we achieved that,” he added.
“We raised concerns about the Ministry of Health, which is suspending the public awareness campaign. It's a delegated issue, but he was very interested in it because organ donation is considered an issue across the UK.”

During the meeting, Ben showed young Daichi his organ donor card.
“He showed the 25-year-old organdonor card and said he remembered an incredible day in Westminster when Daichie's law was passed. He said he couldn't remember any more inspiring moments in the House,” Mac Gaban said.
He added: “It was a really fun meeting.
“We wanted to know what was going on with the Secretary of State, and more importantly, we are still struggling with the issue of organ donation.
“He listened, got engaged and supported. We look forward to seeing how the relationship develops.”

While Dáithí, the company of NI secretaries, took advantage of the opportunity to make some additional requests, his father confirmed.
“[Mr Benn] He remembered him from Westminster and said the day Daichie's law was passed was one of the most exciting things he saw in the Commons,” he said.
“There was even a bit of a craek around football, and Daichee asked WrestleMania to come to the UK and Ireland.
