Cork Parents Of Baby Organ Donor Honor His Memory At

Deborah and Eddie Burns from Macroom today paid tribute to baby Harvey and all other organ donors and their families across Ireland at a special ceremony in Galway.

The parents, with the help of their daughter Lottie, planted specially selected shrubs at the Circle of Life Garden in Salthill, Co Galway, in dedication to organ donors and their families and in honor of the countless lives they have saved. Ta.

The ceremony, attended by 500 people, marked the end of Organ Donor Awareness Week and the 10th anniversary of the Circle of Life Garden, founded by Dennis and Martina Goggin, the couple who also organized today's special event. It was a commemoration.

The couple donated their son Airmon's organs after he tragically died five days after being involved in a fatal road accident in 2006.

Since then, they have acted as active leaders in organ donation, founding the Strangeboat Donor Foundation to support the families of other deceased organ donors, and spearheading the establishment of the Circle of Life Garden. I'm here.

The Garden is a special place of gratitude and remembrance, where families of organ donors and grateful transplant recipients remember the spirit of giving and the enduring legacy of the Gift of Life. It's a place.

Martina Goggin shares her personal experience with organ donation for her son: “In the darkness, organ donation provided a ray of light. It became the only positive thing about Eamonn's death and gave me solace in knowing that his death was not in vain. It was comforting to know that he donated his kidney, heart and liver and helped others move on with their lives after it was over.”

Carol Moore, CEO of the Kidney Society of Ireland, who attended the Circle of Life Garden commemorative event, said: “What Dennis and Martina Goggin and the Strange Boat Foundation have achieved is truly amazing. It shows the true spirit of human kindness and is an inspiration to us and the many others who are developing this wonderful garden on a volunteer basis and raising funds for its construction and maintenance. .”
