Life-changing drugs have led to a dramatic fall in the number of lung transplants needed by people with cystic fibrosis.
A new study shows that, following the roll-out of the breakthrough medicines, just four transplants were carried out on cystic fibrosis patients in Ireland between 2020 and 2025 compared to 17 between 2005 and 2013.
