Alison, 48, from Tipperary Town, will launch an epic fundraiser on Thursday, March 6th, and hopes to complete it on Cashel on March 13th.
Diagnosed as a young man with Butter Syndrome, Allison had to fight the illness for most of her life and received two kidney transplants. World Kidney Day is one year since her first transplant. So far, Idonate.ie on Alison's page has raised nearly 8,000 euros called Fundraiser from Alish Kidney Association Clg.
Allison wanted to thank Beaumont Hospital for implementing the life-saving operation and remember and honor the donor who gave her a second chance in her life.
“I have chosen to raise money for the Irish Kidney Association Clg. All the funds raised here go directly to this big cause,” Alison said. “I hope they help me by making as much donations as possible. Click on the donation button. All donations will be processed safely.”
Allison aimed to walk the same distance from his home in the town of Tipperary to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.
Allison travels to Dublin to join with other patients, families and donors to celebrate and support the Irish Kidney Association. She walks to the rocks of Caschel, where the Public Works Bureau lights up the castle, highlighting Allison's chosen charity.
On Wednesday, Allison updated her followers with her progress. “Day 7 is complete. I was so overwhelmed, happy, proud, sad, accomplished something I didn't think I could. It's very important for me to say tomorrow in the best possible way.
“I would like to express my special thanks to everyone at Moorhaven Centre in Tipperary Town for inviting me to their centre, showing me around my banners, balloons, tea and scones and preparing me in Tipperary Town, a fundraiser for the Irish Kidney Association.
“It was my honor and privilege to be in front of you. You're amazing because what you do every day is inspiring our town,” added Allison.
