Heart transplant recipient Louth father welcomes new organ donation bill as he waits for kidney transplant

John Brennan, from Louth, who received a heart transplant in 2018 and is on the waiting list for a kidney transplant, welcomes the new laws which mean anyone can become an organ donor, unless they opt out.

John Brennan, from Louth, who received a heart transplant in 2018 and is now on the waiting list for a kidney transplant, welcomes the new laws which will mean he will be considered an organ donor unless he refuses.

The father-of-two was at Leinster House earlier this week when the bill was passed, and it will become law once it is signed by President Michael D Higgins.
