Daiti Mak Govan appealed for organ donation and has been on the heart transplant waiting list for 1,900 days.
The 6-year-old was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome, which means the left side of the heart doesn’t form properly. He and his family have campaigned tirelessly for changes to Northern Ireland’s organ donation laws, which came into effect on June 1.
Tuesday, August 22nd, the young man marked 1,900 days on the heart transplant waiting list. This comes a week after Daiti was placed back on the waiting list after being “paused” in June.

Mr Daiti traveled to Newcastle last month to undergo heart surgery, paving the way for him to get back on the waiting list.
The Donate4Dáithí campaign group acknowledged he had waited five years for life-saving treatment and urged the public to consider joining the organ donation list.
“On his 1,900th day on the list, Daithi has reached another milestone as he awaits the gift of a new heart,” the group said.
“If I could ask you one thing, it would be to consider joining @NHSOrganDonor. Sign up and share your decision with your loved ones.”
Earlier this month, Daiti had a fun time with his family at Disneyland Paris, where the family announced that “Daiti has done it” and described it as a “miracle”.
His grandfather is running a fundraiser to give his family a summer to remember, and more than £10,000 has been raised to make Dythi’s Disneyland dreams a reality.
